Illness

At Blossom & Thrive, your child’s health—and the health of the children and families we serve—is a top priority. To maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment, we ask that all families follow the guidelines below when determining whether their child is well enough to attend therapy.

We understand that children may experience occasional illness, and we are committed to working with families to reschedule sessions when needed.

Please Keep Your Child Home If They:
    •    Have had a fever of 100.4°F or higher in the past 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication)
    •    Have experienced vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
    •    Show signs of a contagious illness, including but not limited to:
    •    Persistent or productive cough
    •    Thick or discolored nasal discharge (especially if accompanied by fever or fatigue)
    •    Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
    •    Rash of unknown origin
    •    Head lice or nits
    •    Have tested positive for COVID-19 or another communicable illness and are within the contagious period as defined by CDC or local health guidelines

Returning to Therapy After Illness
    •    Children may return to therapy after being symptom-free for at least 24 hours (without the use of medication).
    •    For COVID-19 or other communicable conditions, we follow the most current public health recommendations and may require a clearance note from a healthcare provider if needed.
    •    If your child has lingering symptoms such as a mild cough or runny nose but is otherwise well and energetic, please contact us—we will help you decide whether they can attend.

If a Child Becomes Ill During a Session

If your child begins to show signs of illness during a session, the therapist may end the session early and request that you pick them up. This is to ensure your child’s comfort and prevent the potential spread of illness to other clients and staff.

Caregiver and Sibling Illness

We kindly ask that caregivers and siblings who are visibly ill avoid entering the clinic. If a sibling must attend due to family logistics, they must remain seated and supervised, and not exhibit symptoms of contagious illness. Thank you for helping us keep our clinic a safe and welcoming place for all families.
