Parent Participation
Parent & Caregiver Participation Policy
At Blossom & Thrive, we believe that caregivers are not just observers—they are active partners in their child’s therapeutic journey. Your presence, insight, and consistency play a powerful role in promoting progress, confidence, and carryover of skills across home, school, and community environments.
We welcome and encourage caregiver involvement during therapy, and our team is committed to fostering a collaborative, respectful atmosphere where parents and therapists work together toward shared goals.
Caregiver Involvement During Sessions
• You are always welcome to observe or participate in your child’s session unless doing so disrupts their engagement or independence.
• In some cases, your therapist may request private sessions to better support specific therapeutic goals, reduce distractions, or encourage skill generalization.
• For sessions involving feeding therapy or caregiver training, participation may be required as part of the treatment plan.
Supporting Consistency at Home
• Therapists will often provide home program activities, strategies, or suggestions to reinforce therapy goals outside the clinic. Your follow-through and feedback are key to making meaningful progress.
• If a home exercise is not manageable, we encourage you to communicate openly so we can adjust and problem-solve together.
Respectful Collaboration
• We ask that all caregivers maintain a respectful and supportive tone during sessions. If you have concerns about an approach, activity, or aspect of your child’s therapy, please share it directly with your therapist—we welcome your perspective.
• Honest and proactive communication allows us to make informed adjustments and ensure that therapy aligns with your family’s values and priorities.
Siblings and Visitors
• We understand that childcare and transportation can be challenging. Siblings are welcome to accompany families to the clinic when needed but must remain supervised and in designated areas at all times.
• To protect your child’s focus and safety, we ask that additional visitors (such as extended family or friends) only attend sessions with advance notice and therapist approval.
